Lahaina Maui

Lahaina is a great little town in southwest Maui that is full of fun things to do.  A lot of the ocean adventures that you can book could take off from Lahaina marina.  Quite of a few of the ocean activity companies have boats in this marina.  Also there are hotels and condo in Lahaina for renting that would be a great place to stay on vacation.
In the center of Lahaina is a city park that has one of the largest banyan trees that we have ever seen.  This banyan tree is an entire city block and is just amazing to see.

Front street in Lahaina is a neat place to visit as both sides of the street a full of different shops.  If you like jewelry you will want to visit Front street because it seems just about every other shop is a jewelry store.  You can get some good deals if you shop around.  You will also find all kinds of different souvenir shops on Front street so you will be able to find gifts for those back home.

There are some nice beaches here also, so if you are not staying in Lahaina, be sure to bring a swimsuit.  Actually when in Maui be sure you have towels a swimwear always.

When we were on vacation in Maui we found that there are many different places to eat in Lahaina, but be prepared to pay quite a bit for a meal unless you walkLahaina ocean view around on some of the back alley ways and side streets off of Front Street.  Most of the restaurants on Front Street charge around $10 just for a hamburger but if you get off of Front street we found that it was just about half that amount.

The luau that we went to while we were on vacation in Maui was in Lahaina.  If you check out the activities section on this site you will see some information about the luau that we attended.  I must say though, that we were very happy with the luau in Lahaina.  I would have to say that everything we did while on vacation in Maui was fun, but then again how can you not have fun when you are in Maui.

If you are a person that likes trains, be sure to look up the Sugarcane Train that is located in Lahaina.  You can take a train ride up the west side of Maui for a small fee.  We didn't get the opportunity to take the train ride as we had to many other things planned on our vacation, but we did drive past it on our way to something else and it looked like it would have been fun.

Also in Lahaina is the whalers museum which will show you the history of whaling in the Lahaina area.  There are a ton of different things to do in this area and you will not have time to do them all unless you are staying for along time on Maui.
